These are a series of pictures I made of the trunks of trees in the swamp areas of the Essequibo River in Guyana. I was really amazed at the reflected patterns at the waterline. The river is beautiful and huge, but sparsely populated on the banks except for near Georgetown. The culture is somewhat similar to Trinidad, with a large influence from Africa, India, and Europe, but also with a fairly large Amerindian population. Tomorrow we go to Kaieteur Falls by plane with a hike to Marshall Falls.
